Devrayana Durga, Tumkur

About: Devarayanadurga  is a hill station near Tumkur in the state of Karnataka in India. The rocky hills are surrounded by forest and the hilltops are dotted with several temples including the Yoganarasimha and the Bhoganarasimha temples and an altitude of 3940 feet. It is also famous for Namada Chilume, a natural spring considered sacred and is also considered the origin of the Jayamangali river.

How did i reach:
From Bangalore, i used NH 4 and took deviation after Dabaspet junction. You have to take a left turn in front of Sidganga Mutt and after few minutes of drive you ll get a nice view of Devranyandurga forest.
On the way you can visit a place called "namada Chilume" where you can get to see a natural fountain.(But unfortunately no water in the summer). But the place is pretty calm and you can see lot of deer (check the pics)

After some relaxing time i start back again to my main destination, i.e, Devrayanadurga which is just a few min drive. It may be around 4 to 5 KM to reach BogaNarsimha teample from the foothill..
Again you have to drive another 2/3 KM and climb some steps to reach Yaganarsimha temple which is located on top of the hill. From the top you get beautiful view of the villages and paddy fields.
